Real Scars. Sharp Thinking. Calm Control.
Choosing A Shadow CEO Is A Big Step …
Experience First. Qualifications Built On Top.
I went bust in 2008. That forced me to understand why some businesses survive pressure and others don’t. I have spent every day since studying at least 90 minutes a day and applying it in the real world — sales, pricing, systems, operations, profit. I even created easy to understand but detailed courses too.
From Covid onwards I moved that into formal study up to doctorate level. The qualifications gave structure to work I’d already been doing for years. That combination is what matters — not theory, but structured thinking built on lived experience.
CMI Level 8 Strategic Direction and Leadership (Doctorate Level in Business Management)
This doctorate-level management qualification focuses on senior strategy, leadership and organisational direction.
For clients, it means the work is not based on instinct alone. It is supported by tested strategic thinking, structured analysis and the ability to see how leadership, systems, execution and profit connect across the business.
CMC Registered Mediation
When conflict takes hold inside a business — between directors, partners, employees or clients — everything else slows down. As a qualified civil and commercial mediator I can help both parties have a calm, controlled conversation and work toward a practical resolution, without the cost and disruption of formal proceedings.
CIPD L7 (Masters) Advanced Employment Law in Practice
Employment law is becoming harder for businesses to navigate casually.
Relying on common sense, old contracts or informal habits can create unnecessary risk, especially when conflict, complaints or difficult conversations are already in play.
Level 7 (Masters) in Business Accounting and Finance
This Master’s-level qualification provides formal training in business finance, financial analysis, strategic decision-making and commercial performance.
For clients, it means the work connects strategy with the numbers behind the business. I can help interpret what the financials are really showing, support better decisions on pricing, investment and profitability, and keep ambitious plans grounded in commercial reality.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training provides formal grounding in assessing how well business systems, processes and quality controls work in practice.
For clients, it means I bring disciplined, evidence-based thinking to the way a business operates. I can look beneath the paperwork, identify gaps, risks and root causes, and help strengthen systems so they become more consistent, reliable and capable of supporting performance.
CMI Level 7 (Masters) in Professional Consulting
This Master’s-level CMI qualification in Professional Consulting provides formal training in senior consulting practice, structured problem solving, client engagement and ethical delivery.
For clients, it means the work is not based on opinion or guesswork. It is supported by recognised consulting methods, clear analysis and a practical focus on turning insight into useful action.
CMI Level 7 (Masters) in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring
This Master’s-level CMI qualification provides formal training in senior leadership coaching, mentoring practice, organisational development and leadership capability.
For clients, it means coaching is not just motivational conversation. It is structured, commercially grounded and focused on helping leaders think clearly, make better decisions and improve how they lead, communicate and develop others.
A Little About Me
Family is everything to me but getting the right balance between work and family life isn’t always easy. I missed so much of my daughter growing up while I was building my business – I regret that. I can’t get those years back.
I have always been drawn to physical and mental challenges, from martial arts to endurance events. That matters because business pressure requires the same qualities: discipline, calm thinking, resilience and the ability to keep moving when things get uncomfortable.
After leaving the Submarine Service, I started working for myself in 2004 in carpet cleaning and flooring supply. It was competitive, price-sensitive and unforgiving. That taught me quickly that if you cannot market properly, price properly, serve properly and control the business properly, you end up working hard for very little.
I have been studying all things business since I went bust in 2008-2010. I learned about adding value over price, after-sales, strategic direction and so much more.
During Covid I decided I wanted to be a Shadow CEO and embarked on what was to be 6 years of studying to the highest levels in the country to be the best I can be for my clients.
